A Boutique Washington Lobby Shop

About Us & Our Approach

The District Policy Group is proudly different from other lobby shops in Washington, D.C. While access and relationships are critical—both on Capitol Hill and with federal agencies—credibility, reliability and valid information often make the difference in efforts to develop and sustain successful, long-term relationships. We maintain an effective balance between access and substance, bringing the two together for our clients’ benefit.

Our bipartisan team focuses our policy and advocacy work on the issues affecting the key drivers of the nation’s economy – including health care, agriculture and trade. As former Congressional staffers and in-house lobbyists, we have extensive experience in government relations, lobbying, advocacy, Capitol Hill policy and politics, federal agency rulemaking, grassroots organizing, social media and coalition building. We enjoy providing strategic counsel to clients – advising them about what they should do and when they should do it – then rolling up our sleeves and engaging with them in the “doing.” We are motivated by the importance of the issues facing our clients, the work they do, and the public policy goals they want to achieve.

What sets us apart is the dedication of our talented team members, close partnerships with our clients, commitment to seeking and incorporating feedback from clients, the highest standards of service, and tailored, high-quality work product.

Our Approach

We undertake our work in client-specific teams, which allows us to offer clients a unique group of our experts who have the specific knowledge, experience and relationships relevant to each client’s priorities and areas of focus. In addition to every client’s dedicated service team, all of the District Policy Group professionals as well as our Advisory Board experts are available to offer their services. Our Advisory Board is comprised of lawyers and high-level professionals with expertise in public relations, communications, state-level government relations, health economics, and food, drug and medical device policy.

Our policy professionals also provide clients with insight on the current political environment, the fiscal state of play, trends in policymaking, and the impact each has on business planning and other organizational objectives. Working in this way, we help our clients achieve their immediate policy goals while also helping to boost their overall success.

The District Policy Group is a team within the Government and Regulatory Affairs Practice of Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP, a prominent law firm with more than 600 lawyers across 12 offices.
