        • Dr. Tom Price and Dr. Phil Gingrey at Price's confirmation hearing on January 18, 2017.

In the week leading up to the Inauguration, Rep. Tom Price (R-GA), President-elect Donald Trump’s nominee for Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS), faced his first of two U.S. Senate confirmation hearings. If confirmed, Dr. Price will play a significant role in the Trump administration as Congress considers the future of the Affordable Care Act, Medicare, Medicaid and other critical health policy issues.

District Policy Group Senior Advisor and former Congressman Dr. Phil Gingrey has known Dr. Price for more than 25 years, which spans their time as medical professionals in Georgia and service together in both the Georgia State Senate and in the U.S. House of Representatives. In a January 17th column for The Hill, Phil, who represented Georgia’s 11th congressional district from 2003 to 2015, discusses Dr. Price’s qualifications to be HHS Secretary.
