Government Should Not Interfere with Patient-Physician Decision Making

Phil Gingrey, M.D., former U.S. Congressman and Senior Advisor to the District Policy Group at Drinker Biddle, penned a column in The Hill discussing his recent remarks at the 3rd Annual Meeting of the Patient-Centered Research Institute (PCORI) where he voiced his views about the role of comparative effectiveness research (CER) in patient care.

Dr. Gingrey, a retired physician, highlights the significance of individualized care, physician experience and patient preference when making decisions are made about a patient’s best course of treatment.
