Jim Twaddell has extensive experience in and knowledge of the federal public policymaking and appropriations processes, grassroots initiatives, and advocacy training. Jim provides clients with strategic counsel on legislative, policy, political and advocacy issues, including advancing authorizing legislation, securing federal appropriations support for funding increases, working with federal agencies on the implementation of legislation or proposed rules, conducting Hill Days and training events and implementing grassroots campaigns.

Jim represents clients before individual Members of Congress, key Congressional Committees, including the House and Senate Appropriations Committees; the House Energy and Commerce and Ways and Means Committees; the Senate Finance Committee; the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committees, and before various federal agencies.

Previously, Jim worked as the associate director of government affairs at the American Association of Colleges of Nursing. During an internship with U.S. Senator John Warner (R-VA), Jim decided to pursue a career in politics and subsequently served as deputy director of communications and as a legislative aide for U.S. Senator Arlen Specter (R-PA). He earned his master's degree in government from The Johns Hopkins University and received his bachelor's degree in public administration from George Mason University. Jim lives with his wife, Sara, in Falls Church, Virginia.
