Jim Twaddell has extensive experience in and knowledge of the federal public policymaking and legislative and regulatory processes, strategic planning initiatives, and advocacy campaigns . Jim provides clients with counsel on legislative, policy, political and advocacy issues, including advancing authorizing legislation, securing federal appropriations support, engaging with federal agencies on the implementation legislation, working with client on analyzing and responding to proposed regulations that present threats or opportunities, and organizing advocacy
campaigns to promote specific policy initiatives.

Jim represents clients before individual Members of Congress, key Congressional Committees, including the House Energy and Commerce and Ways and Means Committees; the Senate Finance Committee; the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committees, the House and Senate Appropriations Committees, and the House and Senate Judiciary Committees. He also represents clients before
various federal agencies the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, the National Institutes of Health,
the Health Resources and Services Administration, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the Department of Defense.

During an internship with U.S. Senator John Warner (R-VA), Jim decided to pursue a career in politics and subsequently served as deputy director of communications and as a legislative aide for U.S. Senator Arlen Specter (R-PA). Previously, Jim worked as the associate director of government affairs at the American Association of Colleges of Nursing. He earned his master's degree in government from The Johns Hopkins University and received his bachelor's degree in public administration from George Mason University. Jim lives with his wife and two sons in Falls Church, Virginia.
